At the hour of midnight
(click for midi)
daarvan is:
At the hour of
midnight.
orkestrale
(click for mp3)
ondersteuning is het een feestelijk lied. Het refrein wordt gevormd door een
vrolijk "la, la, la". Daartussendoor 3 coupletten.

Refr.: La, la,la,la,la
1.At the hour of midnight, in the midst of winter. Bright with heaven
starlight born was our redeemer.
At the hour of midnight, roosters were all crowning. Christ our
heaven'ly sunlight comes his peace bestowing.
2.Heavens King eternal on the straw is ly-ing mule and ox stand near him
from the cold he's crying.
Spreading hay to warm him oxern Jesus hovers but the mule
is wicked he the babe uncovers.
3.Mary weeps in pity for her suffring darling, wishing for protection for
the cold winds howling.
Tend rest little infant saviour o my Jesus, all my love for ever sweetest
son so precious.

The birthday
of a King
(click for midi)

1.In the little village of Bethlehem, there lay a child one day.
And the sky was bright with a holy light over the place where Jesus lay.
Refr.: Halleluja, o how the angels sang, alleluja how it rang.
And the sky was bright with a holy light it was the birthday of a king.
2.'Twas a humble birthplace but o how much God gave to us that day.
From the manger bed what a path has led, what a perfect holy way.

O little town of Bethlehem
(click for midi)
Tekst:Brooks 1835-1893,Muziek: Saint Louis.
In

1.O little town of Bethlehem how still we see thee lie.
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent starts go by.
Yet in thy dark street shineth the everlasting light.
The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.

A baby born in Bethlehem, fulfilled eternal plan.
He was sent by God above
to die for men.
Sin required a sacrifice and on this child was laid
the price for redeeming
all mankind and by his life and death it was paid.
Look to this child of Bethlehem and know why the angels sing.
Though he was
born to a humble life, when he died, he arose as king.
And by accepting this child of Bethlehem hearts will be cleaned and new,
the promise was made and the price was paid, let this child be born in you.

1.Once in
royal David's city stood a lonely cattleshed.
where a mother laid her baby in a manger for his bed.
Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ the little child.
2. He came down to earth from heaven who is God and Lord of all
and his shelter was a stable and his craddle was a stall
With the poor and mean and lonely, lived on earth our saviour holy.
3. And through all his wondrous childhood he would honour and obey.
Love and watch the lonely maiden in whose gentle arms he lay.
Christian children all must be mild, obedient, good as He.
4. For he is our childhood's pattern day by day like us he grew
He was little, weak and helpless, tears and smiles like us He knew.
And he feeled for our sadness, and he shared in our gladness.
5. And our eyes at last shall see Him through is own redeeming love,
for that child, so dear and gentle is our Lord in heav'n above.
And He leads His children on to the place where He is gone.
6. Not in that poor lonely stable with the oxen standing by
we shall see Him but in heav'n set at God's right hand on high
When like stars His children crown'd all in white shall wait around.

One small child in a land of a thousand
One small dream of a Savior tonight
One small hand reaching out to the starlight
One small Savior of love
One small Savior of love
One king bringing his gold and his riches
One king ruling an army of might
One king kneeling with incense and candlelight
One King bringing us life
One King bringing us life
Refr.: See the shepherds kneeling before him
See the kings on bended knee
See the mother praising the Father
See his tiny eyelids fall
One small child in a land of a thousand
One small dream of a Savior tonight
One small hand reaching out to the starlight
One small Savior of life
One small Savior of life

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on your troubles will be out of sight.
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the Yuletide gay
From now on your troubles will be miles away.
Here we are as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
They gather near to us once more.
Through the years we all will be together and
If the fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bow.
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now.
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on your troubles will be out of sight.
Let's have a christmas party for us all tonight.
