Dit lied staat als nr.1 in de map van The Bridges. Het staat daar omdat het al meer dan 30 jaar op het repertoire staat. Er is geen bladmuziek van, sommige koorleden kennen het lied nog maar het wordt eigenlijk nooit meer écht gezongen. Herkomst, componist en tekstschrijver zijn onbekend.
De toonsoort is G groot. Het lied wordt eenstemmig gezongen. Bij het refrein zingt een zangpartij de "echo" (tussen haakjes) en tijdens de coupletten zingt stem-1 de eerste en derde regel, stem-2 zingt de 2e en 4e regel.
Chariot kan ook wel charion zijn, dat weten we niet zeker.
